well i'm trying to get back into the swing of things again. i've been taking more photos again for various reasons.  one, i recently got engaged, and so i've been trooping around looking at wedding venues, so that's afforded me the opportunity to try to capture how i see things. also, with my new submission of "orange," i am now embroiled in a weekly contest with some of my coworkers.  i didn't win, but i'm fairly pleased how it turned out. if anything, i realized how "judging" is a random event and how it really doesn't matter, so long as what i wanted to illustrate came across. and it did. i also realized i should write more, as its been

every time i go back to new york, its always like coming home again. i lived there for a couple of years, living and working in manhattan.  there were so many images i would hold in my mind, to the point where capturing them became necessary. i've tried to translate a few of them in my latest round of deviations, and i'm starting to become less picky about taking the shots, and opting now for seizing the moment as they arrive. and i learned that sometimes the moments come when you probably least expect them to, or even would want them to; i was actually kind of in the doghouse in "timeless square" yet it has turned into one of my favorites.
